NOTRE RUCHER
Nous débutons le rucher du JBM dès validation reçue du service vérinaire en avril 2024, avec 2 colonies d’abeilles de la variété Buckfast, accompagnés par Cédric Périllat créateur de l’association Printemps Abeilles à Genève qui nous transmets sa passion de l’apiculture et chaque étape de soins à apporter au rucher tout au long de l’année. Il nous donne envie d’en savoir toujours plus.
Nous installons également des espaces dédiés aux minuscules abeilles sauvages locales, qui sont déjà installées tout autour de la mare devant la forêt dans de minuscules trous dans la terre. Celles-ci contribuent considérablement à la biodiversité, pollénisent davantage les fleurs que nos abeilles domestiques et apportent un pollen de qualité complémentaire.
Nous participons depuis 2024 au programme contre les Frelons asiatiques mis en place par Kevin Golay et Pascal Crétard de la SGA (société genevoise d’apiculture).
Nos abeilles domestiques locales ont besoin de tout notre soutien, pour lutter contre ce prédateur très agressif qui vient d’entrer à Genève depuis 2023.
Teo, Sylvain, Micha, Taha, Elena ainsi que plusieurs jeunes woofers dont Fiona et Johannes ont pu participer au suivi de notre rucher cette saison 2024.
